In this article, we are recreating movie posters using Mid Journey for The Godfather, The Dark Knight, The Godfather II, Pulp Fiction, and The Fight Club.
Movie Posters using Mid Journey
For this experiment, I have tried to come up with poster recreations that aren’t too alien from the original ones. For example, the original “The Godfather” poster shows “Marlon Brando” with a tense expression; he has this calm look in his eyes, observing everything, and finally when it is time to make a move, doing it in the most sophisticated way. At this age, he has too much to lose, thus being highly calculative about his every decision.
When I wanted to recreate The Godfather poster, I wanted to highlight how he would look at a younger age, full of rawness, and ruthlessness.
By the way, if you haven’t yet heard about Mid Journey, you can read our blog.

For this experiment, I wanted to recreate five of my favorite movies. The list includes The Godfather, The Dark Knight, The Godfather II, Pulp Fiction, and The Fight Club.
The Godfather
Like every Real Man, (Pardon my Old-School sense of masculinity), I am a big fan of The Godfather. Back in my college days, I idolized this character and analyzed every character arc, and plot that shape the character’s development.
Mid Journey Prompt
/imagine prompt: The Godfather 1972 Movie Poster Recreate, Robert De Niro, highlighting his anger, undertone his calmness, in muddy streets of industrial new york in the 1970s, wearing a casual mining uniform, realistic,
The First Mid Journey Draft of “The Godfather” Poster
I do not like the V1, and V3 because the nose looks funny. Pss!
Now we are left with V2 and V4. Among these two, I was immediately drawn to the 2nd one as it showed more facial expressions. I did not like the 4th version that much because it seems like The Godfather had just returned from a War where a bomb went off in his face.
Upscaled the Second Mid Journey Version
I like this poster better because it feels as if The Godfather had just returned from a War that has left him devastated from the inside. He is asking himself what he can do to earn a living now that the war is over, which will ultimately lead him to become a Godfather later in life.
The Dark Knight
Although my brother is a huge Batman fan, I am not such. Then why have a included this movie in this blog? Well, I wanted to recreate this movie poster with Joker as the main protagonist. Like many of us, I also am a big fan of Anti-Heros.
Mid Journey Prompt
/imagine prompt: The Dark Knight 2008 Movie Poster Recreate, Joker has a dark smile on his face, he is standing in the middle of a Cross-Road, the surrounding buildings are on fire, people are rioting, and there are a few police cars ablaze, total anarchy
The First Mid-Journey Draft of “The Dark Knight” Poster
I wasn’t very impressed with the “The Dark Knight” recreations. The first Mid-Journey draft looks like Joker does not have a nose. And the third one also has a disfigured face. And the last one has a cloud that very closely resembles a human face.
Upscaled the Second Mid Journey Version
The Mid Journey poster I liked the most is the 2nd version. I like Joker’s Posture; he looks like he has done some serious damage by blowing things up. It seems like he is fully satisfied with his carnage, which has left him completely exhausted.
The Godfather Part II
Like the first Godfather, the second Godfather movie was equally amazing. I like the character development. In the first Godfather, we have already seen Michael Corleone take up the family business. In this second installment, we get to see how ruthless he can be to legalize his family business.
Mid Journey Prompt
/imagine prompt: In the Godfather 1974 Movie Poster Recreate, Michael Corleone is shouting in rage, he is in his room, a table and chair are visible, he slams his hand on the table, his shirt is unbuttoned, realistic
The First Mid Journey Draft of “The Godfather Part II” Poster
Honestly, Mid Journey misunderstood what I was looking for. Instead of making a poster, Mid-Journey put a poster in a room. I wanted MidJourney to highlight the rage in Michael Corleone’s face, but the first two drafts clearly lack that. I did not like the fourth version because I can see a few drops of water, or probably spit, just in front of Corleone’s face.
Upscaled the Second Mid Journey Version
I liked the 3rd version because I love the rage. You can see Avatar-like dots on Corleone’s face. Maybe this poster will do great for a Godfather multi-verse recreation.
Pulp Fiction
I watched Pulp Fiction a long time ago, however, one thing is for sure, I have watched it multiple times. While writing this blog, I started reading about the characters, and to my surprise, I had forgotten many key characters such as Honey Bunny, Pumpkin, and of course, The Gimp!
Who can forget about The Gimp, it still gives me goosebumps.
Mid Journey Prompt
/imagine prompt: Pulp Fiction Movie Poster Recreate, and highlight Pumpkin and Honey Bunny, both of them have a gun in their hands, realistic
The First Mid Journey Draft of “Pulp Fiction” Poster
I thought Mid-Journey would know who Honey Bunny and Pumpkin are from the movie “Pulp Fiction”, however, as it turns out, it isn’t a big Pulp Fiction fan. Instead of having Pumpkin and Honey Bunny on the poster, it put a big orange Pumpkin as the backdrop. I discarded the last three versions because I wanted a female on the poster. The 2nd and 3rd versions do have two characters on the poster, however, there is no clear distinction between whether one of them is female or not.
Upscaled the Second Mid Journey Version
I picked this version of the poster as it is kinda hardcore, yet funny. If you notice carefully, the right-most character is holding a pumpkin. I do not know what good a pumpkin is for when you are fighting gangsters. It also seems like a fusion between Men in Black, and Pulp Fiction.
Fight Club
I am a big Fight Club fan, I also have “Tyler Durden” written on my arms. There was a phase in my life, where I developed multiple personalities, and I am sure about it because I could see one taking over the other. It happened during the Covid Lockdown, where I had minimum scope to interact with humans.
Mid Journey Prompt
/imagine prompt: Fight Club Movie Poster Recreate, Brad Pitt has eight packs & a fully shredded body, he has beautiful women all around him, he is sitting on a crown, there are big bundles of money all around the room, realistic
The First Mid Journey Draft of “Fight Club” Poster
I tried to highlight the sheer traits that characterize Tyler Durden – being bad-ass and good with women. Also, I wanted to make Tyler appear rich. I do not like the 1st draft as it doesn’t fully show the money. Although, I love the crown. I do not like the third draft as it does not look like Brad Pitt at all. And lastly, I do not like the fourth draft as it looks like Tyler is about to fight a UCL match.
Upscaled the Second Mid Journey Version
I like the second render as it shows as if Tyler just returned from fighting a big group of hooligans. His left eye is seriously wounded, and he is all beaten up. Although he doesn’t look like Brad Pitt up close, he has a sharp jawline, which will do.
